My grandfather died before I had any concrete memories of him. The only thing that I can really remember is of him sitting on his front porch. with his Yorkie puppy sitting on his lap. He loved that dog just as much as he loved any of us, I think. He always made sure that she was well taken care of: fed, groomed and bathed with fresh breath. Both my grandfather and the dog have long since passed on, but the vague memories of them still remain.
